Hi, welcome to our website. We are the Culcheth Players, a small community drama society based out of the Culcheth Sports Club (commonly known as “The Daten”), in the Cheshire village of Culcheth.

We are pleased you dropped by and hope you find this site useful. On it you will find information about our performances, past and present, including how you can obtain tickets and also how you can get involved yourself should you so wish (don’t be shy, we love new members).

And if you can’t find the information you are looking for, or just to say hello, drop us a message via the Contact Us page.

Cast of Aladdin, February 2018

Did you know?.. The Culcheth Players was founded way back in 1958, meaning:

This year (2018) is the Culcheth Players’ 60th anniversary year!

You can read more about the group’s history on the About Us page.

Our Current Activities

Rehearsals are well under way for our summer show, “A Murder is Announced”, a classic Agatha Christie play adapted by Leslie Darbon. This will take place over three nights, Thursday 21st – Saturday 23rd June 2018. Further details can be found on the Current Productions page.

Our October play will be “The Canterville Ghost” by Oscar Wilde.

Our most recently completed production was “Aladdin” which ran from Feb 16th-18th 2018:

The Culcheth Players’ cast & crew would like to say a big warm thank you to all the people who came out to support us with our panto Aladdin.

We had as much fun performing it as we hope you did watching it. Judging by the reaction from you the audience, each performance everybody appeared to be really enjoying themselves.

We are nothing without you the audience, so once again thank you all so much.

Graeme Walker, Chairman

We generally stage three productions each year, two comedy or drama plays around May/June and September/October, and an annual pantomime late January or early February.

A message from the club secretary

We at Culcheth Players are always happy to welcome people to our little group. Whether it be budding actors and actresses, the willing stage hand or audience member.

Each rehearsal brings together a group of friendly faces of all ages who come to one focal point bringing with us our skills and enthusiasm to put on a show that is worthy of our audience members. Sometimes our shows can be full of fun and laughter (Like our annual Pantos) or they can be more sombre and thought provoking. But one thing is certain, every show is the final result of approximately 4 months of dedication and hard work by each and every group member in order to give the best performance we can.

So please why not come and join us?… regardless of whether you wish to join as a group member, offer to help leaflet dropping or simply wish to come along to watch one of our shows I’m sure that you’ll find yourself being made to feel truly welcome by those of us you meet.
